Hi all,
I decided to analysis Di's 24hr dietary recall. I have been as accurate as I can. Had to use standard portion sizes, and exclude soya ice-cream, and rice milk, as I could not find them in Crop & Food's The Concise New Zealand Food Composition Tables 7th ED. 2006.

So what's this got to do with anything? What does a diet recall do?

I'm going to assume that this means that she is doing just fine and things are moving along?
I did a weeks worth of blood sugar testing just to back up my 'declining the gestational diabetes tests'. ugh, that was the WORST stuff for the incessant vomiting! Blech... just feel gross thinking about it!
Anyway, congratulations to Di and Dave for such a great diet filled with all the good stuff for babe.

Sorry, I did not explain this post well. Too hasty to get it posted. A 24hr dietary recall is a tool which can be use as part of a nutritional assessment of an individual's diet. The food the person eats is recalled over a 24hr period. The assessor then analysis the food consumed to determine the amount of nutrients contained. This can then be compared with the recommended intakes. This information can then be used to comfirm, or rule out the possibility of suspected nutritonal problems.
The analysis of Di's 24hr recall indicates that she is consuming the recommended daily intakes. VitB12 is low, but I was unable to analysis 2 foods, soya icecream and rice milk, which may contain VitB12. Also, not knowing the brand names of foods eaten means that I am unable to account for any food that has been fortifed with nutrients.

Sounds great, all going well with Di's intake at present. She is coming up 16 weeks pregnant now, will see her and Dave again soon.

Cheers Ros

Well, the poll? What is the true cause of all the problems?
I figured it was eggs or peanuts. I'm more prone to eggs, as they aren't marked as much on packaging?
well?
waiting...

Peanuts! Crazy poll with no right answer given, but it is peanuts!
